RADON

The radon is a chemical element belonging to the group of the rare gases, which number in the periodic table is 86 and his symbol is Rn. In his gaseous form it is colorless, odourless and insipid and in solid form his color is reddish. It is a radioactive and gaseous element that is formed of the decomposition of the uranium and the torio. It comes from the disintegration of the isotopes of the radius.
This element (of the Latin radium, radioactive emanation) that lacks flavor or smell.
It uses in the identification of the pollution by hydrocarbons in underground waters of aquiferous coastal cársicos.
It was discovered by Fredrich Ernst Dorn in 1898.
