DYSPROSIUM

The Dysprosium is a chemical element of the periodic table which symbol is Dy and his atomic number is 66. The dysprosium is a rare land that presents metallic silver sheen and is relatively stable in air to temperature set, but it dissolves easily in mineral acids, they are concentrated or diluted, with emission of hydrogen, this is, oxidizing.

It is the soft enough thing as to be cut by a knife, and can be processed by machines without issuing sparks, if the overheating is avoided. The characteristics of the dysprosium can turn very affected by small quantities of impurities. The metal is attacked by facility by the air to high temperatures, but to the temperature set, in blocks, it is stable enough in the atmosphere and remains brilliant during long periods.
