IODINE

The iodine is a chemical element of atomic placed number 53 in the group of the halogens (group 17) of the periodic table of the elements. Is his symbol I (of the Greek ιώδης "Violet"). It is a solid black, gloss, and volatile; it gets his name for his steam of violet color. This atom can be in molecular form as an atom.

It is a trace element and uses principally in medicine, photography and as colouring. Chemically, the iodine is the halogen less reagent and electronegativo.
