COAL

The carbon is a chemical element of atomic number 6 and symbol C. It is solid to temperature set. The carbon is a notable element for several reasons: the graphite one of the softest substances and the hardest (the diamond) and, from the economic point of view, one of the cheapest materials (coal) and one of the most expensive (diamond).
The principal industrial use of the carbon is like a component of hydrocarbons, specially the fossil fuels (oil and natural gas).
The carbon (of the Latin carbo-onis, "coal") was discovered in the prehistory and already it was known in the antiquity in the one that was manufactured by means of the combustion of organic materials. The last known alótropos, the fullerenos that were discovered in the decade of the 80.
