Does lithium take his name of the Greek λίθoς -ου "stone". The name of the element comes from the fact from having been an overdraft in a mineral, whereas the rest of the alkaline metals were discovered in fabrics of plants.
The lithium was discovered by Johann Arfvedson in 1817. Arfvedson found the new element in the espodumena and lepidolita of a mine of petalita.
The estearato of lithium is a lubricant of general intention in applications to high temperature. Also it is in use in the shape of gases in psychiatry.
The Lithium, close to the hydrogen and the helium, is one of the only elements obtained in the Big Bang.
