In Greek mythology, Cassiopeia (ancient Greek or Κασσιόπεια Κασσιέπεια) was the wife of King Cepheus of Ethiopia and his mother of Andromeda, which praised her beauty above that of the Nereids. This pride was the cause of all misfortunes, Poseidon sent a monster because the country that devastated their lands, and that Andromeda was to be sacrificed when it was saved by Perseus. [1] According to other sources Cassiopeia boasted outperform Nereids in beauty, and for this reason it is represented, when it was located between the stars, like her back.
