CONSTELLATION

Cepheus is a constellation of the north that represents the legendary king of Ethiopia Cefeo, husband of Cassiopeia and father of Andromeda.

MYTHOLOGY

Cassiopeia was so proud of his(her,your) beauty for that, for rivalling with the Sea-nymphs, these asked to Poseidon, god of the seas, revenge and he(it) in response I send to the marine monster to the coasts of the country causing big males. To face this situation, Cefeo there consulted the oracle of Amón, who advised to sacrifice his(her,your) daughter Andromeda exhibiting tied to a rock in the cliff in order that she was a victim of the monster. This way, Andromeda is offered to Cetus. Perseo, which was coming from return of his(her,your) trip after defeating to Jellyfish, spied the victim and forthwith(outright) he(she) fell in love with her(it). It(he,she) proposed Cefeo her(it) to liberate, in return for the fact that his(her,your) hand was granted to him(her). Perseo kills to the monster and later it(he,she) marries Andromeda.
