Jupiter is the fifth planet of the Solar System. Part of the so-called gaseous outer planets. After Sun is the largest celestial body in the solar system, with a mass almost two and half times that of the other planets combined. It consists primarily of hydrogen and helium.
The legend of Jupiter
In Roman mythology, Jupiter was the chief deity Zeus and the pantheon. Jupiter was portrayed as a wise and just God but had a great temperament, reigned over the earth and sky and their attributes were the eagle, thunderbolt and scepter.
One shortcoming of Jupiter was his promiscuity and for his amorous conquests, was transformed into animals such as swans, bulls or birds, for he could not be seen in all its glory.
After the battle with the Titans, Zeus shared the world with his elder brothers, Poseidon and Hades, by drawing lots: Zeus got the sky and air, Poseidon the sea and Hades the world of the dead (the underworld).
The ancient Earth, Gaia, could not be claimed and was under the control of the three according to their abilities, which explains why Poseidon was the god of earthquakes and Hades claimed the humans that died.
